So yesterday, as almost everyone knows, was the release date of A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I don’t really believe in pre-orders, mostly because there really is no guarantee it will come on time anyways, but also because I’m just lazy and don’t care to do them. So, this book is no exception. I didn’t preorder it. Instead, I went to the bookstore intending to buy it and they didn’t have it… Okay, not a big deal. I thought maybe it was just because the bookstore I went to was a small one inside of the mall near my house. I thought about going to Chapters later on. Then, I came home and looked on the Chapters/Indigo website. Boy, was I surprised at what I saw…
WHAT?! APPARENTLY, this book is not available to buy IN THE STORE?! And, it’s also SOLD OUT ONLINE?! My first reaction was something like…
Then once it sunk in all the way it was a little bit more like…
Needless to say, I’m more than a bit annoyed. ALL I WANTED WAS THIS DAMN BOOK. IT SOUNDS SOO GOOOD. It’s not like I really NEED the book, I have like 50 books on my TBR pile, but that’s besides the point! I’m more annoyed because I’m seeing so many Instagram pictures of everyone with the book, or people buying it at the bookstore, or going to a signing and the shelves being full of them… I’m more annoyed at the fact that I live in Canada and it seems like Canada is the only place in the entire world that DOES NOT SELL THIS BOOK IN THE STORE. Not to mention the book is also sold out on Amazon.ca. Which, again, is typical for Canada. Thank god for the book depository. I’m going to order it right now.
Has this ever happened to any of you, whether it be for this book or another book? Is this a sign that I should start to take pre-orders more seriously?! Ugh.
If you value your school grades, social life, and sleep schedule, do not ever buy Netflix. Also, do not ever start watching Once Upon A Time. Clearly, I do not value any of the above things, and that’s why I am where I am right now. I had to download an app called “Self Control” on my Macbook in order to block myself from going on Netflix… I set the block for 11 hours because I have a paper due tomorrow, and a midterm on Thursday. I finished the paper, and after this quick post I will get to studying… assuming I don’t find anymore distractions.
But seriously, ONCE UPON A TIME. LIKE WHAT. WHY DIDN’T I START WATCHING THIS YEARS AGO?! I literally just binge watched the first 2 seasons in the last two weeks. All the while trying to study for 3 midterms, 2 quizzes and write 3 papers. Curse you Storybrook, you’ve got me hooked. I guess this post might as well be a mini TV show review. Basically I just need someone to talk to about this show, because none of my friends watch it and I’m freaking the eff out over the season two finale.
I think I might literally be in love with every character in the show, and I loveeee love love how the aspect of true love isn’t limited to the idea of male/female true love. For example, when Emma ends up being the one to break the curse on Henry because he’s her son and she loves him so much. Also, the fact that Baelfire (aka NEAL. LIKE WOW PLOT TWIST!) is Rumplestilskin’s only weakness, like regardless of how much he loves Belle, his son comes before everyone. I mean I don’t doubt my parents love me so I really shouldn’t be surprised to see this, but IT’S JUST SO ADORABLE.
Also the really strong female friendships (and characters in general). Aurora x Mulan. Mulan x Belle. Snow x Red. Belle x Red. And just EMMA. Like sorry what a badass… I actually just can’t even with this whole show. TOO MANY FEELINGS. Somehow I feel like ranting about it in a blogpost nobody will read is somehow going to make up for the fact that I can’t even go on Netflix and watch it.
The realization that I actually can’t even start season 3 until Thursday after my exam…
Excuse me while I go wallow in misery and study.
